Georgetown Lake Waterfront

Montana's Waterpark

At the top of the Rocky Mountains around 6,500 feet above sea level is Georgetown Lake. The lake was the direct result of the Flint Creek dam which was constructed in 1885 to generate power for the area. These days the lake’s primary function is to serve ranches and farms in the nearby valley and as a recreational destination in both the winter and the summer. Surrounded by three mountain ranges; the Pintler Range, the Sapphire Range, the Flint Creek Range and the Beaverhead Deer Lodge National Forest, it’s easy to see why this area is a favorite among visitors and residents alike.

Georgetown Lake Valley

At over 3,000 acres, Georgetown Lake is Montana’s most fished body of water, with more fish caught each day than all other lakes in the state. Regardless of the time of year the schools of brook trout, Kokanee salmon and rainbow trout keep local fisherman and anglers from all over the world coming back day after day. And, beyond fishing you can boat, camp, windsurf and swim in this vast water attraction.

The area around Georgetown Lake is suited to outdoor enthusiasts. In this area you can find 1st class lodging, restaurants and even a marina. Or, you can camp on the lakeside on private land or in campgrounds operated by the Forest Service. If you can’t find a place to stay lakeside, don’t worry, there are more places to camp and find lodging nearby including at Philipsburg or Anaconda, just minutes away.

Georgetown Lake Home

If you feel like exploring, look no further than wild lands around Georgetown Lake. The Beaverhead Deer Lodge National Forest is brimming with animals of all kind including large game and a multitude of birds. The vast network of waterways lends itself to hiking and discovery of streamside flora and fauna. Just around the bend you’ll find the Discovery Ski Basin and three golf courses worth 18 holes.

Finding the perfect piece of property around Georgetown Lake takes knowledge of the area and the people. The agents in the Clearwater Montana Properties office in Georgetown Lake have both. Whether you are looking for a lakeside parcel, a quiet home spot near national forest, or a quiet bungalow close to skiing and other recreational opportunities, the real estate agents at Clearwater Montana Properties can help.
